Balancing Celebrations and Healthy Habits

Howdo!

1 week to go!

1 week and the big days here!!

Dunno about you, but I am really excited about Christmas! In fact, December is fun. Especially with having kids! Caveat though, it is one of my personal hardest times of the year as my CPTSD gets massively triggered.

But I plan to tell you more about that in the new year.

Anywho Cindy Lou, there is going to be a lot of food coming your way shortly.

There will be people online telling you that you can’t and you shouldn’t eat it.

But the truth is.

EAT IT!

Majority of us in the UK celebrate Christmas and one of the biggest things that bring our friends and families together is food.

Whether its going out for food or having loved ones around for food and drinks.

EAT THE FOOD!

Enjoy the time together, enjoy the laughs! Be present in the moment.

There’s loads of things you can do to manage the ‘fall out’ of over indulging.

  • Push back a meal
  • Reduce calories through the day
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Focus on higher protein meals after the ‘indulgence’
  • Increase your NEAT. ( Non planned exercise )
  • Stay on top of your planned workouts

Every day should be enjoyable, but I cannot stress enough how important Christmas time is for enjoyment!

Maybe you have had a challenging year and you use Christmas as that big get together… use that time to be present and happy with loved ones.

Hope this weeks blog / rant helped.

Drop some love below in the comments and share far and wide!
